you have been the one, you have been the one for me

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. That among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

well, according to our constitution, the iraqi people are well on their way to happiness. i mean, we did bring them democracy and liberty and stuff, right?

as america, the greatest country in the world, we have a responsibility to those outside our borders to bring them along same path of democracy and freedom that we ourselves so heartily enjoy today.

along the path of the blood of countless fathers, brothers, and sons. along the path of destruction, poverty, sickness, and famine. along the path of the conquest of a nation.

a conquest by the faith of a few over the hope of many.

history.

repeating itself.

again.

bush and co have faith in a new, free iraq. they say that iraq will be better off following in the footsteps of america towards his forever undefinable "freedom."

people of iraq, is a new america really what you want?

do you really want super bowls and expensive gas and rich boy partiers living down your street?

do you really want a liar as your de facto king, and torturers and thieves and all the king's men running your country? when they die for no reason at all, you fathers, brothers and sons won't even get flags on their coffins.

they won't even get coffins, will they?

of course not. the iraqi people do not want any of these things. they don't want the country we have. they dont want the government we have. their government has big problems ahead, and our government has proven that handling big problems is not its cup of tea.

our big problems are not osama, or al qaeda, or saddam, or iran, or kim jong-il. but only half the country gets that.

barack obama is on the right half. he knows what the big problems in this country are:

"We have more work to do -- more work to do for the workers I met...who are losing their union jobs at the Maytag plant that's moving to Mexico, and now are having to compete with their own children for jobs that pay seven bucks an hour; more to do for the father that I met who was losing his job and choking back the tears, wondering how he would pay 4500 dollars a month for the drugs his son needs without the health benefits that he counted on; more to do for the young woman in East St. Louis, and thousands more like her, who has the grades, has the drive, has the will, but doesn't have the money to go to college."

notice what he didn't say we have to work on.

not on telling you what to be afraid of.

not on telling you whos to blame for it.

not on moral fucking hypocritical elitist right wing vaules.

now obama may not be able to fix all of these big problems by himself, but he knows what needs to be done about them. he knows that the government of the united states of america, in order to deal with and fix the big problems of the economy, health care, and education, has to work and work hard and work harder to come up with, and implement real solutions for the whole country. and hes one of the few people in this country whos ready to do it.

and people like that is what iraq really really wants.
