you have been the one, you have been the one for me

Dear people of the United States of America,

I'm really sorry to say this, but I think you've completely lost your common sense.

I'm sure there was some place in time where you had it, and I'm sure it was pretty good then too. Like when we re-elected Clinton over dole. Or when we booed ashlee simpson at the orange bowl.

But what I thought were a few isolated wtf moments have turned into a full-blown, backstreet boys level nationwide trend. We have all become stupider.

It all started with a cup of coffee at mcdonalds. An old geezer of a woman walks in one day and orders a cup of coffee. She knows what coffee is. She has drank coffee before. She was not coerced into ordering said cup of coffee. Yet if you read her lawsuit, she claims not to have known that coffee is hot. And that when she spilled it on herself, she suffered severe hand injuries that mcdonalds is somehow responsible for. Funny thing is, her hands were good enough to take that check all the way to the bank

And then a disappointing thing happened. We the people accepted it.

Our acceptance of this idiocy numbed us to it later on. How the hell do you think bush got re-elected?

So when cheney decides to represent our great country at the funeral anniversary of 2 million people by dressing like a hobo, it doesn't even make a blimp on our radar.

Or when the extremely opinionated, but always anonymous Christian right attack a fucking cartoon show for supposedly pushing a pro-gay agenda, we don't even laugh at how moronic we've become.

Instead we do something worse. We don't care.

No one knows why we've become this way, why we've blinded ourselves from the obvious and acknowledge absurdity as gospel. But there is a simple answer that any high school football coach will tell you.

Attitude reflects leadership.
