you have been the one, you have been the one for me

william jefferson clinton was a great president, greater than bush can ever hope to be. monica lewinsky and linda tripp are the only things keeping him from being a great man.

but guess what folks, being a great man isn't necessarily a good thing, especially in the office of the president. only bill oreilly and sean hannity care about presidents being great men. the history books really don't care about what kind of man you are.

the history books don't care about moral values. they do care about body bags. and budget deficits. and gdp, interest rates. and jobs and health care.

basically things that really make a difference in the lives of americans.

the history books never believe the hype.

clintons administration resulted in the most prolific, most potent, most supercharged era of economic growth this country has ever seen. everyone thats bought a house or a new car within the last ten years has bill to thank, because under reagan or old bush, you would have paid double the interest that you did.

did we have a war under clinton? no. did we have domestic issues that needed to be handled get handled in a timely manner? yes. and thats how every president should strive to be. just like bill.

but the gop wants you to forget about all that, all the economic prosperity, all the good things because of a fat bitch intern and a cigar. they realized that they couldnt hang with the dems when it came to actual real issues, so they went after the dems from a different angle.

moral fucking vaules.

infidelity blah blah. perjury blah blah. the gop changed the fucking laws of this country in order to allow paula jones to bring a lawsuit against a sitting president.

because they were mad at the success the dems brought for this country.

because theyd rather have something that looks good rather than something that works. like a bmw with no engine.

dubya's legacy will not be about freedom and liberty because the history books see right through that bullshit. generational goals is another word for i have not idea whats going on. the patriot act and the occupation of iraq are not freedom and liberty.

the history books will mostly remember numbers. not abortion or gay marriages.

numbers like thousands of body bags coming home from iraq.

numbers like millions of jobs lost in his first four years.

numbers like millions of americans without health insurance.

numbers like the billions corporations stand to make in bushs social security "reform."

the history books only remember the things that made a difference. and they have the best memory of all.
